A number of changes are being implemented at SSM Textile Machinery and its subsidiary SSM HACOBA in Wuppertal.

Over the coming months the business activities and product portfolio of Hacoba in Wuppertal, Germany, will be relocated and integrated into the existing operations at SSM Textile Machinery’s headquarters in Horgen, Switzerland.

This relocation focuses on the provision of long-term support for the sewing thread winding machine sector. Concentrating resources in Horgen will enable us to tap into synergies, especially in the areas of research & development, production and logistics. This in turn will translate into improved market response and a more efficient customer service.

As of today, relocation of operations from HACOBA in Wuppertal to Horgen is in full progress and structures and workflow within SSM are being adapted to cover the full scope of the product range for sewing threads. Key elements such as Customer Relations Management, R&D activities and production operations are now virtually fully implemented into SSM’s organization.

The close links existing between the two companies will enable a smooth integration into the current work processes at SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG in Horgen; as a consequence, the total restructuring process will be finalized by the end of 2008 at the latest.

The move underlines our intent for activities and services to be more closely focused to specific needs of our customers. In so doing, customers will be provided with the best possible package available on the market.

The new high-performance sewing thread Finish-Winder TK2/20 “Thread King2“, which was exhibited at ITMA ASIA, is the result of the SSM HACOBA synergies and close cooperation.In this sense, we would also like to take this opportunity to introduce our 2 latest developments:
 

1) TK2/20 “Thread King2”
This machine is a modular concept for winding onto cones, tubes, king-spools and mini king-spools up to 1.5”. It is supplied with an automatic tuck-in and is available with auto-doffer or manual doffing. Increased production performance, energy recovery system and better ergonomics with state-of-the-art technology are just a few of its highlights.

 

2) NSA-X single flex
The NSA-X single flex is a high-performance automatic winder that has evolved from the very successful and popular NSA-HS 4-Spindle winder. The NSA-X single flex features individual controlled winding spindles with separate drives for the winding spindle and traverse system. The SSM fastflex™ traverse technology, in combination with a higher spindle speed of up to 7,500 rpm, boosts the production performance >30% over the former NSA-HS model.
